Maharlika Carbon Chairman to Speak at Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024

Singapore – September 2024 – Maharlika Carbon, a leading environmental market infrastructure provider, is proud to announce that its Chairman and Co-Founder, Justin Reynolds, will be a featured speaker at the Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024. The event, taking place from September 18-20 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore, brings together global leaders, industry pioneers, and visionaries to discuss solutions to some of the world’s most pressing economic, social, and environmental challenges.

The Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024 is known for attracting high-caliber speakers from across the globe, and this year is no exception. Justin Reynolds will join an esteemed lineup that includes:

  • Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, Former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

  • Simu Liu, Actor and General Partner at Markham Valley Ventures

  • Su Shan Tan, Deputy CEO and Group Head of Institutional Banking at DBS

  • H.E. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda

  • Jane Sun, CEO of Trip.com Group

In a session titled, "Asia’s Green Gold: Unlocking Value in Natural Capital Markets" on September 18 at 11:00 AM, Reynolds will highlight the critical role of natural capital markets in Asia’s green economy transition. The session will explore how innovative financial mechanisms, including environmental credits, can unlock billions in investment opportunities while addressing urgent climate challenges.

As a co-founder of both Maharlika Carbon and NetZero Global, Reynolds has been instrumental in establishing the Philippines’ first Article 6-compliant environmental registry. Developed in partnership with the UNFCCC and the Climate Change Commission (CCC) of the Philippines, this registry positions the country at the forefront of the global carbon market. As more nations across the Asia-Pacific focus on decarbonization and environmental regeneration, Maharlika Carbon’s leadership in environmental market infrastructure has emerged as a key driver of growth in this sector.

“As an Environmental Venture builder, one of NetZero Global’s focuses is to design, build, and manage investment solutions that enable billions of dollars to be invested in Natural Capital,” said Reynolds. “These investments generate returns for investors, nature, and communities while enhancing ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and accelerating the transition to net zero. Through our Natural Capital Science and Platform, we aim to deliver commercial, long-term returns and create impact at scale by protecting and restoring vital biodiversity. We strive to unlock the supply of high-impact carbon credits for corporations, along with financial and social returns."

“Our goal is to empower nations to meet their climate targets while unlocking new economic opportunities. By delivering scalable natural capital solutions, we help create a regenerative future—one where both nature and economies thrive.”

Maharlika Carbon has been instrumental in advancing large-scale environmental projects across Asia, from green hydrogen initiatives to regenerative agriculture. By leveraging innovative platforms like Kana Hub, which supports over 50% of nature-based solutions globally and manages 80% of Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) in the UK, Maharlika Carbon is positioning itself as a leader in both environmental markets and carbon trading infrastructure.

The Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024 is expected to draw over 1,500 participants, including government leaders, investors, and social impact pioneers. With a focus on advancing inclusive growth and sustainable development, the Summit will offer Maharlika Carbon a platform to continue its mission of supporting climate resilience and environmental regeneration throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
